More Aerial Work

I don't often post about aerial work, but figured it deserves an update, as it's been a large part of my work for the past month of September, flying 6 times and 1 coming this weekend.

This is the new swisher road bridge going over Lake Dallas in Lewisville, TX. I shot these for ATS drilling, and additionally sold the images to the overall construction company. good stuff.

Business is currently going good, but school seems to be stunting progress and things are starting to slow down again as a result of not committing enough time into it. I appreciate the opportunity to go to a university and all, but I'm ready to just have that degree and move on.

Challenge Air

Rick Amber founded Challenge Air with the belief that, "every disabled person should see the world from a different view…out of their wheelchairs and crutches and from the sky." This belief of Amber's came from his life experiences. As a fighter pilot and training officer in the US Navy from 1967 to 1971, Amber lost the use of his legs when his jet crashed during a landing attempt on the aircraft carrier USS Hancock. (read more at challengeair.com)

It felt nice to do some charity work; the smiles were just priceless. The event was held at the Dallas Executive Airport, aka Redbird to us who fly often. I got wind of this organization from a golf tournament a few months back.

Shown is a kid who got to fly getting some kisses from a seeing eye dog in training. They just loved each other so much. It was adorable. On the right is the very first flight that took off. I have names, but seem to have displaced them for now. Sorry.

There we numerous UNT students there as well from the Department of Kinesiology, Heath Promotion and Recreation. I wish I would have known so I could have worn my green in sported my school also. This pilot had only a two-seater fixed wing, so he was giving flights to volunteers. Again, I have their names somewhere but not in this post, sorry.

It's been over a week since my last post. Rest assured, there are plenty of pictures to come. Been keeping very very busy, in fact that's why I haven't updated in a while. Not complaining though.

Claire and Greg Engagement.

Sometimes you get a couple who knows exactly what they want, and that's great, because you can't go wrong. Then, other times you'll get a couple who will just leave it up to the photographer. In this case it was great, Claire and Greg were down for every idea I had, no matter how crazy. I really enjoyed this shoot.

Once on location they suggested a few ideas of course. Claire said she's always wanted some pictures with the christmas lights on the square.

I've duplicated this shot before. I love this tunnel at Eureka park.

(right). They put on UNT gear and jumped in the fountain. The whole shoot was like playtime. Good Stuff.

Gigi and Billy Langley wedding

Shot a wedding this last month at a buffalo ranch here in Denton.

I was able to mount lights inside the gazebo prior to the ceremony. I loved the results. Here's a picture of the guys, post-ceremony.

They had too much fun. Gigi (the bride) shown in foreground.

Billy joined the band for a little while, here he is rockin' the harmonica. Their band was so so so good.

UNT vs Tulsa

The first home football game for the mean green this past saturday:

NT Giovanni Vizza (15) avoids a sack from Tulsa linebacker Curnelius Arnick (32) for a drive that would end in a NT touchdown in the first quarter Saturday.

Tulsa University running back Tarrion Adams (25) is tackeled by NT Truman Spencer (23) resulting in a no gain down in the second quarter Saturday.

NT wide receiver Riley Dodge (11) runs for a first down which would ultimately lead to a Mean Green touchdown in the first quarter against Tulsa University Saturday.
This is Todd Dodge's son. All-american high school QB.. playing wide receiver?

NT running back Cam Montgonery (26) is tackeled by Tulsa linebacker Mike Bryan (43) and defensive back Roy Roberts in the first quarter Saturday.

Very official captions because I shot for the Daily. I'm no longer an "intern", this semester I'm a "contributing photographer".

Katy Peters Shoot

I'm behind on posting, this was actually a while back. I have a few posts waiting to be written, but I figured the blog needed some people. ..and who better than Katy.

Katy is a friend of Sarah's. Sarah was actually the one who set this shoot up, only to have me come along to assist her. But I couldn't resist shooting some of my own, and so we had one big super shoot. A link to sarah's pictures in the jump.

Katy in the right picture for some reason looks like a blast from the past, the hair style, gold jewelry, purple graffiti, and such. I can't dial in the year, but it was def around when I was born.
You old folks, (jason) can help me out.

this is now one of my fav headshots.

VIDEO

it's been a while since one of these little videos. more to come. Spanish music because Katy is obsessed with spanish. Spanish major, trips to spain, speaking in the language as much as possible, etc.

Zip-Lock Bag House.

I apologize that I don't know the official name of the piece. This was an art work installation by Karen Arzamendi, a student at the University of North Texas.

Shown is Karen inside her installation. at the UNT SOVA gallery in the art building. Denton, Texas

You could go inside and look around for hours. Unfortunately, it had to be disassembled from the gallery there, but luckily you can still go inside virtually and look at allthe weird small and interesting things in each bag.

To the UNT art students, I know what you're going through, and I feel your pain. I will shoot your work for crazy cheap, and in some cases free, especially for you guys in advertising design. Make sure to shoot me an email if you need pics related to your projects and I'll do the best I can to help out.
