Sophia Shoot

Sophia is a striking young lady who I had a shoot with a couple weeks ago, and boy does she have some hair. I've never worked with hair so thick, so it was a lot of fun to work into the photos. Here are some shots:

getting started.

having fun.

creative lighting, hair!

more hair!

modelesque

serious look

her idea actually. Love it!

getting dark - moved indoors.

The End.

I hadn't had a shoot like this in a while, it was a lot of fun. Sorry to post so many, maybe I should've posted one of those videos. Next time.

The weather is wonderful lately. I love it! If you're wanting photos, portraits, etc, now is the best time, soon there will be pollen, t-storms, haze, heat, etc, and not to mention wedding season is coming up. Give me a shout now!. :)

massive UFO, metorite spotting Feb 20th in Dallas / Oklahoma

I'd say it was about 11pm, I should have noted the time. I saw a massive massive orange fireball streak through the sky. I was playing basketball with some buddies in East Plano, just north of Dallas and I saw it come from overhead last for a good three to four seconds heading north and then burnt up. It started as a streak, you could see it grow in size, light up large almost like an explosion and then it seemed to break into tiny lit up pieces. It was absolutely amazing. I can't find any information about it because there was just another fireball the other day that landed in the area, and all my search results lead to that. This one must have landed in Oklahoma, heck maybe even Kansas.

If anyone else saw this is has any news about it, please please comment. This is my photography blog, but this is the most public source of communication I have. I'm hoping someone else sees this who also saw the same asteroid on Feburary 20, 2009.

And because this is a photography blog, here's an UNRELATED astronomy photo of mine for ya.

Longhorn Helicopters Fleet

I went out to longhorn helicopters the other day for a strange and very coool assignment. They started off wanting a just a shot of the crew and the helicopters in the background. I took that shot, and since they all had to get the helicopters back to the hangar, I talked them into another photo. .. :)

Here is tandy setting up this photo.

And here it is. Hehe. No photoshop, this is all real, 6 helicopters in a tight airspace.

Additionally I took individual photos for them.

Here are the company owners

Helicopters are a very tricky thing to photograph. You have to have a really slow shutter speed 1/50 seemed to do the job. You think it would be the opposite, but when the blades are frozen, the chopper looks like a rock in the air. With the slow shutter speed, you have to have decent panning skills or the pilot must have killer hover skills and you have a steady hand.

MY engagment shoot by Tre Lathon

Another personal post.

For those of you who don't know, I'm engaged to the wonderful Sarah Matthews. I now sit on the other end of finding photographers, and it's not easy to do. I have a big pool of friends to choose from, Justin documented the helicopter engagement proposal and did a great job. Brad and Charlie are covering our wedding, and for our engagement shoot we choose Tremayne Lathon of Lathon Photography. We were very happy.

This was my favorite shot from the shoot. This ally way is very meaningful to us.
