First 5D mark II samples, first USA arrival.

I got a chance to play with one yesterday in Arlington, Texas. This is one of the first in the US to come in. My name is on the list, but not high enough to take one home yet. I did get some sample images however.

The first thing I did was test out a high ISO shot. Of course.
ISO 6400, this was the highest it would go without turning expansion on.

Then I went into the menu to turn on ISO expansion.
Time to test out the famous 25600 ISO.

Movie Time.
I put on Av mode, aperture priority. I wanted to see how it handled adjusting exposure, it was quite violent. Later in the video I tested out the auto focus button. I was impressed at the speed, but I had low expectations. It was a lot faster than the D90.

I'm featured on unt.edu for winning free chicken

So Brad Holt and I made the top ten finalists the national chick-fil-a's "Biggest Fan" video contest. We got 108 free coupons, a bunch of plush cows, calendar, t-shirts, bag, coffee mug, and more. The coolest part is that is that the university's PR did a story on us. You can see the story here:
